Emily Phillips
Designer
With her background in industrial design, Emily brings a knowledge of the materials and processes used to communicate brand identity across multiple mediums. She is always striving to achieve the balance of good design that respects “the rules,” but interprets them in new, unexpected ways.
Prior to joining Willoughby, Emily was a designer with The McCulley Group in California where she worked on extensive signage and wayfinding projects for the University of California San Diego along with identity system extensions for a range of retail, corporate and hospitality brands. After that, she worked in Chicago as a graphic designer for Crate and Barrel where she was responsible for evolving the corporate identity for Crate and Barrel and CB2 stores. An industrial design graduate from the University of Kansas, Emily joined Willoughby in 2009.
